Karo Migrations and Diaspora

The Karo people have remained confined to Indonesia as it is an island. There have been some migrations to larger cities by Karo people, mostly the younger generation, for work purposes and to leave the traditional ways for the modern world. These migrations have occurred in small numbers, and most Karo people remain in the highlands and lowlands of Indonesia from which they originated.
